Owner Surrender Agreement

It is understood and agreed by you that neither East Coast Maine Coon Rescue (ECMCR) nor the individual or family adopting the cat being released by you to ECMCR is expected to pay you any amount for said animal. Should your cat/kitten come into ECMCR Foster care, then there is an ECMCR Foster Care donation required of $100. This donation will help to cover the cost of rescue expenses in finding placement for the cat you are releasing to our organization into a carefully screened forever home. The cat being released to ECMCR must be up to date on vaccinations upon surrender.

Please answer the following as completely as you can. PLEASE NOTE: Any information on this form may be posted to ECMCR's Rescue List of volunteers and adoption applicants.

Please do not be intimidated by the questions and the length of this form. The more information we have about the cat you are releasing to our organization, the easier it will be to find the best possible placement for the cat.

I, , hereby make available for adoption the Maine Coon Cat/Mix named to East Coast Maine Coon Rescue (ECMCR). I certify that I am the owner of this cat, free and clear of all other interests. I also certify that this cat does not possess any dangerous or vicious propensities, including, to the best of my knowledge, any sickness or diseases. I have not willfully concealed any information about this cat that might indicate such propensities.

The information I have provided about this cat is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I hereby, forever release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify East Coast Maine Coon Rescue (ECMCR), its officers, its Rescue Committee, its members, volunteers, coordinators, representatives; or any other person, firm or corporation involved with the efforts or business of East Coast Maine Coon Rescue (ECMCR), from all claims, demands, actions or causes of action or liability of any kind incurred as a result of or in connection with the adoption, fostering, veterinary care or other disposition of the above named cat. I also agree that my name and phone number and/or email address may be released to the new owner of this cat, and that the new owner may contact me if he or she wishes, to gain any further information about this cat.

This agreement shall be interpreted and enforced in accordance with the Laws of New Jersey. Lawsuits or any other legal proceedings between the parties to this contract shall be brought in the courts of Warren County, in the State of New Jersey.
